Colorado Hunting Trip

Colorado Aspen Trees
It's been awhile since I made a trip back to see my in-laws since the separation of my ex-wife. I thinks it been five year or so? Regardless of my divorce my in-laws were very warming and open their home to me and my nephew.  I have to give special thanks to my brother in-law who is a very understanding and still accept me as a good friend.  I know sometime it's hard to let go of the past when you share so much in common, to let go because two people can not get along and have to go their separate ways.

The hunting trip was very fun I have to say. We hike our butts off to search the high mountain of Colorado for elk. Many of our hunting party had their opportunity to bag one but did not come through.  Even though, I didn't have a tag for elk this year, but I wanted to go to spend some time with some old friends.  However I took my friends brother in-law out to the woods. I was able to called him a 6x6 elk within forth yards of us.  I set him up but he did not have his release ready in his hand so he was caught off guard and was looking for his release when the elk took off.  A rookie mistake that cause him a big bull.

Generally every year while hunting for elk I would loose at-least 10 to 15 lbs. This year we ate so good at camp I didn't even loose a pound. We had steak, pork, shrimp, and all sorts of food. It was my first time having pho in the woods, a memorable moment to remember.

Even though, we had our chances of bagging a bull elk.  Most importantly is that we all had a wonderful time  renewing our friendship.

Special thanks to Jay and Jay for hosting my nephew and I. I will always love them as my brother.
