First Attempt of Night Photography

I took several photos at midnight last night but the sky had too much clouds, the moon was out and the light population effect my photos.  From reading and watching photos that a friend has shared with me I need the moon to be half moon mean, no moon and to be at least 50 to 100 miles away from a metropolitan city so the light population would not effect my photography.  I will soon try again when I have less lighting from the moon.

Any tips you would like to share with me on night photography? Or share some photos with me on your work. I'm always learning to better understand my 7D canon EOS.

Mt. Defiance Hike

My wife and I went on another hike 11.6 miles to Mt. Defiance loop back to the car in preparation to our Mt St. Helen this coming month. I took these pictures while on our adventure toward the top.  I have to say this hike was very long and hard with with all the zigzag of 3000 plus elevation gain within the first five miles to reach the top. At the top of the mountain is 4930 elevation.  This hike is consider one of the toughest hike also yiu for training ground for peoples who wants to climb Mt. Hood and Mt. St. Helen. At the top we could see Mt. Hood to the south of us. Such a beautiful day for hiking.

My legs were very tired for several days following the hike, but I would do it again.

Hopefully you have been on some hikes?

My Legs are like Jello

A small waterfall as we passed by a creek.

This past weekend my beloved and I went on another adventure trying to get our cardio, and legs ready for the big hike in May. Here are some random photos I took with my iPhone, I forgot to bring a long my canon camera on this trip.

We crossed over these slippery rocks to the other side.

After a inclined of 2500 evaluation gain we came across a small meadow full of these wild lily flowers.

As we got above 4000 evaluation and descending down on the dark side or shadow of the mountain their was still snow on the ground with made it slippery. We put on our spikes for about 1000 feet of descending before we could remove our spikes.

This hike was 11.3 miles round trip up Herman Creek trail, up Casey Creek trail to the top and down Nick Eaton Trail returning back to our car.

Have you done any hikes?
