The Letter "D"
After my divorce it was very difficult explaining to my two youngest why their mother and I are no longer living together. Even though my two oldest knew they didn't want to accept it either. During my divorce and now that I'm been divorced I've tried several attempt with little success on the subject of divorce not until a friend who has never been married nor divorce told me of Sesame Street. She had read an article that Sesame Street did a short show on the letter "D" meaning divorce. The explanation seems simple but straight forward. After watching the short video with my kids, I had a small discussion with them to see if they understand and ensure them that I love them. My two youngest seem to understand the concept, thanks to my friend.
Even though they understood the concept, I think divorce is not a easy subject and constant communication to our kids is essential for a health lifestyle.
